Around 11:00 that night, I heard Jacob making a mad dash up the ladder to the top bunk. The next thing I heard was "Mommy" followed by the most sickening sound: retching. He missed the bowl. I had to strip the bed, do laundry, make him a bed on the floor in the family room and a bed for me on the couch so I could be near him. Aunt Jill got up and sat with Jacob while I went to the gas station to get some Sprite and Gatorade. I ran through a stop sign in my mad dash to get back to my sickie. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw red and blue flashing lights. The Deputy Sheriff took pity on me after I told him my story. He let me got without even a written warning.
I got Jacob tucked in and asleep. I tossed and turned on the couch only to awaken at 3:00 am to my have my turn with the stomach flu. And thus began my much anticipated vacation to sunny southern Utah!
Let's not forget Ben. He just had fun sitting on the 4-wheelers and in the Ranger in the garage for HOURS and HOURS! What a kid.
