Addicted

Now that I've learned how to put SNL clips, etc on my blog, I just have to share one of my all time favorite clips. It truly reminds me of my Grandma and Grandpa Larson. I remember watching Lawrence Welk at their house on the hill. Ah, the good old days!

Yippy Kippy

If you're reading this entry, you will only truly appreciate this if you are an SNL fan. Do you remember the summer Olympics with Kerri Strug? She vaulted on an injured ankle and received a high score, putting the US Women's Team in first place? Anyway, SNL did a skit with Chris Kattan portraying "Kippy," Kerri Strug's pretend little brother.

Long story even longer, Ben has these PJs that, when paired with white socks, make him look like a little gymnast. I tried to get pictures of him standing up, but he wouldn't cooperate. Only when he's standing can one truly appreciate the similarities between Ben and Kippy. So now we call Ben "Kippy."

Pomp and Circumstance

Well, we made it. Our energetic Jacob graduated from preschool. We had the first of two days of graduation festivities. Day number two is at the end of the week.

Jacob and his classmates sang songs and received diplomas. They were so cute. Jacob is such a ladies' man. Notice him holding hands with Jennifer. He is too cute. Enjoy the pictures of the fun day.

TBall Game #2

Yes, we had yet another game. It was a late game, starting at 7 pm. It was HOT (92 degrees). Jacob had played all day on the Slip 'N Slide (with intermittent Otter Pop breaks). Needless to say, he was tired before his game even started. Enjoy his picture, a few of Ben, and even one of Grandpa Asay. Pay special attention to Jacob sitting in the outfield, too tired to stand! Ha Ha Ha! I love that boy.

Just The Boys

I love my boys, including Marty. Here they are having snuggle time on the couch. And there's also a picture of our up and coming famous photographer, Jacob.

First T-Ball Game and Extras

Jacob had his first t-ball game tonight. He is number one on the Angels (red shirts). They played against the Braves (blue shirts). He had a blast. True to Jacob form, he grinned from ear to ear the entire time. He really didn't know what he was doing half the time, but he really got into the spirit of being on a team. He chanted "Angels Rock" on our trip home.

Of course there are pictures to view. I've added a few pictures of Jacob and Ben "shaving" this morning. Jacob has to put on daddy's deodorant, astringent, shave cream, and after shave. What a kid. And of course Ben has to follow suit. Enjoy!

Mother's Day Part 2

Jacob is now the age where he can make special surprises for me. In preschool, he helped his teacher write a little "getting to know you" paper about me. Keep in mind that Jacob supplied all the answers by himself at school. Here it is:

My mom's favorite color: Rainbow
My mom's favorite food: Ham and Spaghettio's
And this is how she make it: She cooks it
My mom is this tall: 68 feet
My mom weighs: 58 pounds (Ben weighs 30 lbs)
If I could buy anything for my mom it would be: a kitty kat (I think NOT)
My mom's favorite thing to do: Watch me and Ben play outside

In primary, Jacob made me a necklace. The necklace has twelve flowers. Each flowers lists a special chore he will do for me. Here they are:

I will exercise with you
I will clean my room
I will go to sleep for you
I will be healthy for you (can you tell I push the veggies and fruits?)
I will clean up my toys
I will help you plant flowers
I will talk care of my mom because she has rocks in her tummy
I will help watch Ben
I will help with the dishes
I will play with Ben nicely
I will watch cartoons with you
I will make spaghettios for you

I need to explain the "rocks in mom's tummy." I have to have my gallbladder removed for gallstone, gallbladder disease, sludge, etc. I was in the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. I told Jacob that I had rocks in my tummy; I couldn't think of any other way to explain this to Jacob.

My Favorite Topic

Yes, I love my kids. My family is the most important blessing in my life next to the gospel (they are very close). My children bring such joy into my life. I never knew I would love and cherish being a mother so much.

I remember growing up and liking to babysit. However, once I went to college, I really didn't like babysitting anymore. It's not that I didn't like kids, I just really had no interest in playing with kids, etc.

The love I have for my children is the purest love I have ever felt. Jacob and Ben are not perfect, they try my patience, and I am constantly straightening the house because of them. But I would not have it any other way.

I am thankful that I am a mom. I have developed and deeper love and respect for my mom. I am thankful for Joanne. She passed away before Marty and I started dating. But I know she raised a wonderful man, because I know Marty cherishes me.

Fun In The Sun

I took the boys sans Marty to the Gateway a few weeks ago. I even braved the Frontrunner as the solo parent. We had a blast. I dressed the kids in their swim trunks and shirts so they could play in the water to their hearts' content. I packed some PBJs for lunch, but the picnic wasn't nearly as exciting as the water.

The boys played for a few hours, and then we hoofed it back to the train station. Ben was frozen (blue lips and chicken skin)so I wrapped him in a towel, reclined the stroller, and he slept for about one hour until we got to the Layton station. Jacob fell asleep in my lap. Fun was had by all!
