Classic

I took my little ones to Classic Skating yesterday. We were invited by my RS secretary. She has three little ones. Our neighbors and another family also met us there. I guess we kind of had an in. My secretary is the daughter-in-law of the owners. We got in free, free tokens, free rentals, free pizza, and free drinks. It was awesome. I have never taken my boys there. I haven't been to a roller skating rink since 6th grade. Guess what: nothing has changed. The decor looks like the Roller Round I grew up with in Charlotte, NC. It was fun watching Jacob and Ben get into skating. It seems that no matter what they do, I love watching them.

Green Day

I'm not trying to be PC, and I am definitely not referring to a music group. I am blogging about St. Patrick's Day. What did the Asays do? Not a thing. I worked last night and was luckily able to get in a 3 hour nap when I got home. Marty enjoyed his favorite pastimes: Bejeweled, facebook, Drudge, surfing the web -- all intermingled with a few jaunts outside to watch Ben ride his bike. Jacob has been totally engrossed with the NCAA tourneys going on. Ben. What did Ben do? Oh yeah, he played outside: road construction, but mostly riding his Firestorm bike with his Transformers helmet on. What a kid!

For dinner, I did make Irish meat pie, complete with homemade green crust. It was soooo good. Ben even ate some since he "helped" me make the cool green crust.

Spring Fever Part 2

Oh my heavens! I was at it again today. I guess I wasn't sore enough from yesterdays chores. My totally awesome neighbor, Brother Child, helped me make a couple of raised garden beds. They are Marty's birthday present. I even blended the soil to put into the gardens. That was by far the hardest part. My arms are sooooo tired. But it was so worth it, or will be worth it in 2-3 months. Ben and I planted peas, radishes, carrots, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli. You'll notice the dirt that spilled over into piles on the ground. Those piles are courtesy of my little Ben. I hope you like this Marty. A lot of sweat and tears went into this. My sweat and Ben's tears!

I added a few pictures of my eldest child who has developed March Madness fever. He is always shooting hoops. Keep it up Jacob; you are my retirement plan!

Spring Fever

What a gorgeous day! Sunny, warm, perfect. Perfect for yard work. I took the plunge and started spring cleaning my yard. I trimmed the shrubs. I raked. I mowed. Ask me how many times I mowed today. I dare you. Four!!! Yes four. Why so many times? I mowed twice on the normal height setting to get the debris cleared from the grass. Then I trimmed the shrubs and raked up the trimmings. That made a mess on my freshly manicured lawn. So I lowered the lawn mower and mowed two more times. Gosh it felt good to get that done. Here are some pictures of the yard. However, pictures do not do it justice. Trust me. It looks so much better than before. I've included some pictures of my two favorite subjects. They enjoyed the perfect day also. They even helped me haul the refuse to the dump. What great guys!

Notice Ben's "road construction" vehicles. He is always ready and willing to help haul away debris. I love the last picture. My two loveable boys. They look as if they want to punch each other. I give up trying to take a loving picture of them together. Impossible. But they are mine forever. Love it!
