Slumber Party

We had a slumber party. The boys got to sleep on the pull-out sofa. They had a blast. Of course they ended up in my bed with Marty while I slept on the sofa bed. I guess I was coughing too much for them. Oh well. I still had a good night's sleep. I do love spending time with these little rugrats!

Spider Man

The boys got new power toothbrushes in the form of their favorite superhero -- Spider Man. They sure enjoy brushing their teeth now.

Got Milk? (or at least pear juice?)

Yea, it's official. I do have some pretty cute kids. Dinner was simple fare tonight. It consisted of homemade bread, cottage cheese, and home-bottled pears and peaches. My favorite. Soooo yummy.

Ben LOVES the pear and peach syrups left over in the bottles. And I must admit it is pretty tasty. However, Ben gulps the stuff down. Here are some photos of the boys being cute. I especially love the ones of Ben having a Mountain Dew moment with the pear juice. Enjoy!

I have to explain the pictures of Jacob and Ben giggling with their hands covering their mouths. It's a very UN-PC explanation. Just imagine a Japanese lady who is laughing while covering her mouth. And her laugh sounds like the little petite "he-he-he!" I know it's not proper to teach the kids, but they're just so cute doing it.

Mama's Sweet Baby

Ben got his first and hopefully last set of ear tubes. Ben has had nonstop ear infections for over a year now. We finally got a referral from Ben's doctor to an ENT. If you are looking for a wonderful ENT, look no further than Dr. John Bitner with the Tanner Clinic. He is wonderful. His philosophy is similar to mine. He's liberal in practice. For example, I've heard "Don't get Ben's head wet" or "He can't go swimming," etc. Dr. Bitner said there are no water restrictions. The worst thing that can happen: Ben gets water in his ears. If his ears drain more than two days, put some ear drops in. Simple.

Any who. We had a WONDERFUL anesthesiologist, Dr./President Rush. He's the second counselor in our stake. He switched his schedule with one of his partners so he could come in today to take care of my sweet baby. Ben fell asleep in my arms in the pre-op room while waiting for Dr. Rush. I was able to carry Ben into the OR and hand him off to Dr. Rush. Ben opened his eyes and cried. Marty and I ran out there. We didn't stop running until we his the cafeteria. We were supposed to have thirty minutes of free babysitting, but we got paged overhead twenty minutes later. Oh well.

Needless to say, everything went well. Ben had massive infection in both ears that Dr. Bitner cleaned out. Poor baby. He just finished Augmentin one week ago. He got his tubes none too soon. To celebrate his quick recovery, I got Ben some chicken strips and french fries. He then was able to lay in my bed and watch his new favorite "Home Alone."

Jacob and Eddie

Jacob came home from kindergarten yesterday with Eddie, the class stuffed-black Lab. Eddie comes with a homework assignment called "Eddie Takes A Vacation." Each child in Jacob's class takes Eddie home and writes a short story about what they did with Eddie. Jacob just so happened to have his dental check up. He took Eddie with him. Of course I had to take pictures for the story that Jacob was going to dictate for me to write. Here you go:

The "New" Distraction

As many of you know, one of my sisters lives in my basement. She recently purchased a new TV for her room. She put her old TV in Ben's room. I hooked up the old-school Nintendo, and the boys have been having a blast. They play the old Mario Brothers 1, 2, and 3. They also watch their own cartoons and DVDs on it. Yeah! My TV is no longer the designated "Bakugan" or "Wonder Pets" TV. My life is becoming my own again. Actually, I spoke too soon. Ben just came in the office and he is in DESPERATE need of a diaper change. Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Happy 36!

I just celebrated the 20th anniversary of my Sweet Sixteen. Gosh I'm old! The boys got me flowers. Marty bought me furniture from Ethan Allen and a yummy lemon cake from Cutesie Cakes. We had family over for cake and ice cream. It was just delightful. Thanks Marty and boys for a wonderful B-Day weekend.
